From Service to Leadership
Dave Folsom’s Career Transition Success

After retiring from the Georgia National Guard, Dave Folsom spent several years exploring civilian employment opportunities that never quite met his expectations. Like many service members navigating the transition from military to civilian life, finding the right fit proved challenging—until he connected with Work for Warriors Georgia (W4WGA).
“W4WGA made my employment journey feel effortless.”
Dave first learned about Work for Warriors Georgia during his time in the National Guard but didn’t have the opportunity to use their services until later. When he finally reached out, he was connected with an Employment Coordinator who understood the transition firsthand and took the time to listen to his story.
With personalized support, Dave updated his resume, strengthened his confidence, and was quickly connected with employers throughout Southeast Georgia.
“From the moment he answered the phone, I knew I was in good hands.”
In December 2025, Dave began his career at JCB, where he now serves as a Team Lead in Skid Steer Assembly. In this role, he uses his military background to mentor and guide younger team members, continuing his commitment to leadership and service in a new capacity.
Dave credits Work for Warriors Georgia—and especially his Employment Coordinator—for making the transition process seamless. He describes the W4WGA team as professional, passionate, and genuinely committed to helping service members succeed beyond the uniform.
“I absolutely recommend Work for Warriors Georgia—and already have.”
Today, Dave encourages fellow service members, veterans, and military families to take advantage of the resources offered by Work for Warriors Georgia, confident that the support they provide can lead to meaningful and rewarding careers.
